About Us

In 2016 the idea for Roller Derby arose in Innsbruck due to a public call for art projects, which had been won by the Fearless Bruisers Innsbruck. This grant laid the groundwork for bringing this thus far unknown sport to Tyrolean soil. Founding a Roller Derby team in Innsbruck was primarily intended as we wanted to work in a queer-feminist collective - without using our brains all the time ;) We wanted to introduce a sport, which is incredibly fun. Besides, without being well grounded in it, Roller Derby enables marginalised people to participate in team activities and to do sports. Anyone can take part as long as they are 18+ and identify as woman or gender expansive; everything else can be trained. This concept alone was reason enough for us to identify with Roller Derby and thus, we brought the Fearless Bruisers into being.
